The simple definition of what R value means is a measure of resistance to heat flow through a given thickness of material. The higher your R-value, the greater the insulating power and in result the higher the energy savings.

Loose fill insulation is insulation that is usually blown into attics to fill hard to reach spaces and all those nooks and crannies. It is usually better for already built homes as well as it can be blow into areas without much renovation needed.

If you live in a busy or loud neighborhood or simply want extra peace and quite, it’s important to know that insulation has soundproofing abilities. There are some insulation options out there that do a better job than others so when speaking with your insulation contractor, be sure to let them know this is a priority for you.
Question: How often does insulation need to be replaced?
Fiberglass insulation is designed and installed for longevity and is able to maintain its insulating properties for quite some time. It almost rarely needs to be replaced!
