Summer has fully arrived and it’s about time! While most of our lives change during the summer with our kids not having school, vacations planned and spending more time outdoors, our houses life changes as well. With temperatures entering the 80’s there are things you can do in order to make sure that your home is ready for a summer long of hot weather.
1. Ceiling Fans:
One of the worst parts of summer is spending time in a stuffy and uncomfortable home. Think about installing or turning on your ceiling fans during the summer as they do a great job of keeping your home cool. Functionally they take warm air up from the center of a room up against the walls.
2. Landscaping:
Besides the fact that the summer time is the best time of the year to have your landscaping in order, think about planting some smaller shrubs and trees around your windows. With some proper shade, you can block your house from excess heat warming up your home.
3. Upgrade Your Insulation:
Insulation is just as important during the summer than it is during the winter. If are afraid that your home lacks proper insulation, this would be a great time to investigate. With properly insulating your home, you will be saving money on your energy bills.
4. New Windows:
If you have outdated windows, think about getting new windows. Energy efficient windows can make all the difference.
